CONTEXT
In 2022, Verizon launched a new 5G internet router. I was part of a multidisciplinary team that designed the step-by-step instructions that allowed users to setup their router at home without the need to hire a technician saving money and time.
Design process

Discovery phase
Working with Agile methodology.
This is an example of the project's story in the Confluence platform. I start the design process by meeting with all stakeholders using sprints where we discuss the project's business goals and design expectations.

LEVERAGING A DESIGN SYSTEM
GRID SYSTEM
-I used a pre-defined grid system to help me maintain spacing and enhance readability across the iOS devices.

Design phase.
Discovery
I used icons sparingly on this project and there were challenges:
Scalability
-Some icons were missing from various screen sizes.
Figma icon library
-Some icons were misaligned with the labels in the figma file.

REUSING MOBILE TEMPLATES
As I kicked off the project, I reviewed some mobile templates with the design team and decided to use est. 3-5 templates that would fit the content and interactions for ths step-by step guide.

Design phase.
Using frameworks
People are accustomed to following printed instructions when installing items around their home. To mirror this familiar experience, we designed a streamlined framework across all screens, incorporating an image, a clear set of actionable instructions, and a clear action item for a seamless user journey.

Design phase.
Visual design
It was important to guide users visually through the self-setup guide. To achieve that goal, I used clean on brand photography to support each piece of instruction.
